Jacques Adnet Umbrella Stand

Leather and metal umbrella stand attributed to Jacques Adnet, likely from the 1950s. Adnet's signature contrasting hand stitched leather sits upon a faux bamboo brass frame. A metal dish is affixed to the base of the design to collect errant water.

Jacques Adnet (1900–1984) was a French designer and architect prominent in the Art Deco and Modernist movements of the 20th century who excelled in furniture, interiors, and the decorative arts. In association with Hérmes, Adnet created chairs, lamps, desks and other pieces that employed slender metal frames clad in stitched saddle leather.
